The Great Wave.... I chose this video because it is interesting that this work seems to diminish the presence of the massive Mt. Fuji in the background. The video discusses how one may think that a wave this massive, has to be a tsunami. In fact, it is not a tsunami but, the wave is large to convey the drama of treachorous waters that the boaters faced when carrying out their days work. The fact that nature is used, the painting reflects the concepts of Shinto. In my opinion, The Great Wave is on of the most fascinating pieces of art discussed in class. Buddhism..... I chose this video because ironically, I was more enlightend after learning about Buddhism then any other of the religions even though most were influenced by Buddhism. The spiritual connection between Buddhism and stupas through sculptures both in relief and in the round make for good expressionism. In my opinion, the spiritual concepts, such as nirvana and karma make this a very interesting video.
